Amesbury sits along the Merrimack River in Northeastern Massachusetts, where wooden ships were once the primary industry and where today the oldest continuously operating wooden boat shop still exists. But Amesbury's mills powered by its waterfalls became the heart of the carriage building industry and later the electric car. Today those mills house restaurants, artists' studios, cafes and craft shops, eclectic housing, and frame the beautiful downtown Millyard.

Amesbury is easily reached by major highways. There are many historic sites to visit and local farms to enjoy in any season, as well as outdoor recreational activities.
