Anniston is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, conveniently located halfway between Birmingham and Atlanta within the I–20 corridor. With a diverse economy, a beautiful natural setting, and warm, friendly people, our city is the perfect place to call, "Home."
As the commercial, industrial, and cultural center of northeast Alabama, contains thousands of acres available for further economic development, several vibrant historic districts, two world-class museums, a state-of-the-art aquatic center, direct access to the Chief Ladiga/ Silver Comet bicycle trail, fun festivals and events throughout the year, as well as beautiful neighborhoods, parks, and tree–lined streets.
Anniston has long been a cultural center for northeastern Alabama. The Alabama Shakespeare Festival was founded in the city in 1972. The Knox Concert Series regularly brings world-renowned musical and dance productions to the area. Anniston is also home to Community Actors' Studio Theatre community theatre organization, which performs plays, musicals, and revues featuring local performers, actors, and musicians.

The city is also home to excellent museums. Berman Museum of World History houses artifacts of weaponry, espionage and Asian art. The Smithsonian-affiliated Museums of Natural History houses mummies, dioramas of wildlife and numerous internationally-known traveling exhibits.
The founders created Anniston as a Model City. Visit and see why Anniston remains true to that calling today.
